Authors who publish with The Root Journals retain full copyright to their work. The Root Journals does not acquire copyright from authors. Authors grant The Root Journals a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute their work under the terms of a Creative Commons license.

Author Rights & Permissions

Academic Use Rights

Authors retain the right to use their published articles in future research, teaching materials, dissertations, and academic presentations without seeking permission.

Sharing Rights

Authors may freely share their published articles on personal websites, institutional repositories, social media, and other platforms.

Reuse in Publications

Authors can reuse text, figures, and data from their published articles in future works with appropriate citation.

Translation Rights

Content published under CC-BY can be reproduced in the following ways:

Third-Party Content

Using Previously Published Material

If your article includes figures, data, or content from other publications, you must:

  • Obtain written permission from copyright holders
  • Properly cite the original source
  • Include permission statements in figure captions
  • Ensure reproducibility rights for all content
  • Comply with any restrictions from previous publishers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOI)

Every article published with The Root Journals is assigned a unique, permanent DOI. This identifier:

  • ✓ Provides a permanent link to your work
  • ✓ Enables proper citation tracking
  • ✓ Works across platforms and repositories
  • ✓ Remains valid even if URLs change
  • ✓ Supports open metadata standards
DOIs are registered with CrossRef and searchable at doi.org
